New foods

These aren't new foods, but they are new to me. I never had either before. I bought both when I went food shopping yesterday. I like the crumpets. They remind me of English muffins. The polenta wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be more of a cornbread type thing. I kept frying it & frying it & I just didn't think it was cooked good/right. This type you just slice & cook. We still have half of a roll left to cook.

I know some people really like polenta, but I just don't get why:)

I don't think I have had polenta. I hear about it all the time, though. We make grits and pour them into a loaf pan to firm up, then slice and fry the next day, I wonder if it's similar?

I thought polenta was a mashed potatoe consistency. I've never tried it, but my friend is married to an Italian and they have it on a regular basis.☺ The crumpets look good. It's fun to try new foods!
