Not good at doing hair

I've never been good at doing hair but I am finally starting to go on You tube & watch tuturials. I tried doing a French braid on my hair the other day, but only did the top part. It looked kind of cool. I put a barrette in. So I want to learn how to French braid (it will be easier to try it on Tara) & also to do a messy bun in my hair. I plan on wearing my hair in a messy bun a lot this Summer.

Below are a few of the looks that I like. The bottom 1 isn't so messy.
