I've got the cleaning bug

Lately I've been watching a lot of cleaning & organizing You tube videos. They are so inspiring. So I've been cleaning more. Doing things that I haven't done in a while like cleaning behind my toaster over & microwave etc... I want to get on more of a routine with cleaning & which days I do what. I've always loved cleaning, but these inspiring girls make me want to do as much cleaning as I can each day. Some of them do "power hours" where they set the timer for an hour & try to go fast & get as much done as they can. I've done 20 minutes & 30 minutes before & had Tara do 20 minutes. I think it's a great idea for kids. We've been so busy on weekends & her homework this year takes forever. She has a lot of stuff out right now that she needs to put away. She dumped out all of her hair elastics & hair ties. Also went Trick or treating on Saturday & dumped her candy & other stuff that she got on the floor. She was making a Happy Birthday sign for Anthony on Friday night & the supplies that she used are still on the bench in the kitchen & also she has change all over. Finding time for her to clean has been hard. I'm trying to be strong & let her clean her own things. She is old enough now, but it's hard for me because I am home all day with the mess. I want to clean it so bad, but I must be strong. I was thinking of maybe sharing some of my fave You tubers that clean & organize or share my fave cleaning supplies sometime.

Harvest festival & Birthday

Yesterday T went to the town Harvest festival with her friend. We went towards the end to pick her up. She threw together a costume. She was a spider bat girl.

Yesterday was also Anthony's birthday. So after we picked Tara up we went to eat & then went to the outlet mall. He wanted to get some new shirts, but couldn't find anything.

Lipsense review

Not sure if you've heard of Lipsense, but I have heard a lot of people raving about it. So when I got a chance to try Lipsense I was really excited. I chose the Persimmon liquid lipstick & got a matte gloss with it. They also have different glosses to chose from. 1st you put on the liquid lipstick & then put the gloss over it. The gloss is moisturizing shea butter based. It is a system that must be used together to work. It comes with directions. You have to put it on clean/dry lips & apply color in 3 thin layers (waiting between layers) & then apply the gloss at least 5 seconds after color. Lipsense is a long lasting liquid lip color that is guaranteed to last 4-18 hours. It is waterproof, smudge proof, kiss proof & non-drying. It is lead-free, wax free, gluten free, vegan, kosher & not tested on animals. Sounds great doesn't it?

I love the color that I picked. It's really pretty. It did stay on really good. You can mix different colors. There are 40 colors to chose from. Apply a different color with each layer.  It does tingle a bit when you put it on. The tingling can be noticed more by someone that has very dry lips. My lips are really dry. The tingling sensation is cause by the cosmetic grade alcohol which creates a bacteria free environment in the tube. It took me a few tries to get it to go on right & look good. It's a bit different than most lip products, but that's why it works so good. I kind of wish it had a better scent/taste to it though. The gloss doesn't really have a scent. This is a swatch that I did. The color matches our deck.

To remove Lipsense you can use Ooops remover (sold by the company), an oil based make up remover, a neutrogena bar soap or castille soap. I used coconut oil before & today I used some wipes that I had in the car to remove the swatch. It really does stay on good, so it isn't going to come off on it's own. Would I recommend this product? Yes, I would. If you would like to try it I have a discount code to share with you. Use the code bloggymoms15 at check out for a 15% discount. Go to Red Gate Beauty to order.

Stuff & Things

* So yesterday I went & had 2 moles biopsied. I woke up today & 1 of the areas was itchy. I looked at it & noticed that there were blisters oozing. I think it's the tape that is causing the blisters. I can take the tape & gauze off tomorrow. Can't wait.

* Hubs birthday is Saturday, so we are making a cake for him tomorrow when T comes home from school. He has his day all planned out.

*I'm going shopping tomorrow & looking forward to it. I have a few things that I want to get. I need a new Fall/Spooky/Halloween cozy mystery book, so I'll probably be going to Barnes & Noble, Target & I want to go to Kohls to get a perfume.

*It's finally cooled off here. I don't like it. I'll be in most of the time now. Hybernation time. I've been lighting more candles, my salt lamp & turning on more lights. It somewhat makes me feel better.

Tasty Tuesday~Creapy Cobwebs

 Creapy Cobwebs

We made these yesterday since there was no school because of Columbus day. Tara did most of it. These don't exactly look like cobwebs, but they still tasted really good. Check out the photos of T cooking at the bottom.
The recipe is from Kids Treats cookbook.

Ingredients:

4 to 5 cups vegetable oil, divided
1 cup dry pancake mix
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1. Pour 1 inch of oil into large deep skillet: heat to 350f.

2. Combine pancake mix, milk, egg & 1 tablespoon oil in medium bowl. Do not overmix. Place 2 tablespoons batter into funnel or squeeze bottle; swirl into hot oil to form cobwebs. Cook until bubbles form. Gently turn using tongs and slotted spatula; cook 1 minute or until browned. Drain on paper towels.

3. Repeat with remaining batter. If necessary, add more oil to maintain 1-inch depth and heat oil to 350f between batches.

4. Meanwhile, mix powdered sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Sprinkle over cobwebs.

Mommy & Me Monday (Flashback)

This pic was taken at Topsfield fair in October 2011. We didn't get to go to this fair this year. Today was the last day. We will definitely go next year.

Stuff & Things Sunday

Stuff & Things

*I've been kind of obsessed with watching You tube videos lately. It just motivates me & I like that. I look forward to seeing that 1 of my fave You tubers did a new video. Of course there are times where I check the title & if it isn't something that I'm interested in, I will skip watching it. Just because we like the person doesn't mean that we are going to love every video that they do. Some of my fave You tubers are Hollie Eats Lipstick, Jessica Braun, Samantha March, Taylor Nicole Dean, Kathleen Lights, Cheap Crafty girl, But 1st Coffee, Coffeebreak with Dani, Madison Miller, Love Meg, Amy Lee, Beauty & the Beastons & lots more.

*I'm sick of Fall, football & hearing about pumpkin spice. I don't like any of those 3 things.

*Not sure if I'm dressing up for Halloween. Probably just cat ears & some cool cat make up. I usually go out for a little while & then Anthony goes out.

*I'm glad that Jason is back on General hospital, but not sure how that whole story is going to play out.

*I wish there was school tomorrow. No mail either. She had Friday off too. Such a long day.

New England Minute~Vermont

We went to Vermont today. We ended up leaving late, so it seemed like we had to rush a bit. It seems like everything in Vermont closes early. The stores close around 5:30-6. We got there at 4:00, so not much time. I got some post cards, earrings & some chocolate. I think this is our last trip for this year.

This pic below, we were driving. That's why it looks like a flash of color.

This is the Quechee Gorge.

Nail Files. Week # 318

This color looks a lot different on than in the bottle. Maybe you have to do like 5 coats. I did 3 coats. I thought it was more of a purplish pink. But it look pretty much just pink on. It's still pretty, just not what I was looking for.

October Goals

I can't believe that it's already October. I'm hoping at some point this month things will slow down, but we have my parent's 50th anniversary on 10/13 (Nothing big planned since my Mom doesn't leave the house. I got them a card & we were thinking of mailing them a restaurant gift card if my Mom will leave the house that day. She said she might want to go out, but lots of times changes her mind), Hub's birthday on 10/14 (he has his day all planned out) & then of course Halloween stuff & Halloween. I really want to just do house stuff & not be going every weekend. We might have to wait until November for that. But here are my goals:

October Goals

 1. Catch up on letters a bit. I never really catch up completely, but if I could get it down to 10 or 12 letters that would be great.
2. Make something yummy with the apples we picked.
3. Do a Fall photo shoot of Tara in the leaves. We do this every year.
4. Get an apple crisp chai drink from a local place.
5. Try to sell a few items online.

New England Minute~Apple picking

We went apple picking with some friends today. The weather turned out better than I thought it would be.
Tara really wanted that white pumpkin. She rolled it all the way to the store for them to weigh it, but it was $23, so we didn't end up getting it.

We got so many apples. I will make apple crisp, but also maybe give some away.

Stuff & Things

 Friday:
The past few days have been pretty busy. Yesterday I went to the eye doc office to give them the new pair of glasses that I got, that weren't working out. The glasses lady was at lunch, so I went all the way to Ulta. I needed It cosmetics cc cream & got 2 China Glaze polishes. Then went back to the eye place. I found another pair of glasses that I like, so they made an appointment for me to have an eye exam. I hadn't had 1 since last December. I left there got gas & went to the post office to mail some letters going to other countries. Then we had to bring Kizmet to the vet for her yearly check up. She did pretty good.
Saturday:
There were 3 yard sales going on in our neighborhood today. The weather was kind of raw & damp. It did end up raining. But we got 2 end tables, curtains, a mirror, a Mary Higgins Clark book, a blue lantern with a candle holder in it to put a tea light in & a windchime. So we did pretty good. We're pretty much doing our living room over.
Then tonight we went to my Godmother's son's memorial. My Dad met us there. It was nice to see family that we hadn't seen for years. We use to go to my Godmother's house every Sunday, Thanksgiving & Christmas when I was a kid. Tara met some girls her age & they exchanged e mails & might be facetiming each other. Their Mom was nice & fun too. So we might have a playdate with them sometime. Making new friends is awesome.

Here is a picture of me with my Godmother Marilyn. I was named after her (my middle name). She's 86 & still so funny.

Cozy rooms

Now that the weather is getting cooler I'm thinking of cozy decor, warm fluffy blankets & cuddly pillows. It was 70 degrees today, pretty chilly & it's only going to get worse the next few days. Here are a few cozy looks that I found on Pinterest.
