My beautiful baby JoJo isn't doing so well lately. I've noticed that she had lost some weight, but I have heard that as cats get older they start to lose weight. She had always been 10 lbs.
Last year when she went for her yearly check up, she was 9 lbs, but she had a uti too. So she went this week for her yearly check-up & she's down to 7 & 1/2 lbs. I was really surprised. She looks thin when she stands up & when she laying down, she looks heavier (her big belly). This photo was taken earlier last week, before she went to the vet. Well the vet called Friday night & said she didn't have diabetes or kidney problems. He wanted to try her on antibiotics because she had bacteria in her urine & he thinks she has another uti & her dental disease might be causing bacteria. He's going to check her urine again after she finishes the antibiotics. She hasn't had a blood test yet. He had mentioned that a blood test would show if she had something like cancer. He felt her body & didn't feel any tumors or anything. So I feel like there is hope. She will be 15 in June & I really do feel like she might not make it that much longer. I've had her for 12 years since she was 3 & she was my 1st cat when I moved out on my own, so I feel a lot closer to her & like she really is my child. We've been through so much through the years. She's always made me smile & cheered me up when I needed it. She's a lovey, cuddly, friendly cat. She loves sitting on people's laps. I'm hoping she will make it a few more years & make it through all of this.

I'm so sorry, but hope is a wonderful thing. Hang on to that, and maybe she really will rebound. :)
I hope your kitty will be ok. I felt the same way about my cat. I'd had him from the time he was four months old. He was sickly his whole life but worth every penny I spent on vet bills. He's been gone a few years now and I still miss him.
He's buried out in the back yard and I've always said that if I ever have to move, I'm taking him with me.
Sending positive thoughts for JoJo...
