Not the day that I had planned
Today didn't turn out how I had planned. Anthony was getting ready to pull up the old floor. I was getting Tara & me ready to go to the town plant sale. My Dad was coming up to visit. I started to brush her hair, to pull it back in a ponytale. I noticed a huge lump on the back of her neck. I knew something was wrong & that it might be a tick. They're suppose to be really bad this year. So I called her doc office. Almost an hr later they called back & said they would explain how to pull it out. I somehow talked the receptionist into letting us come in. The doc ended up pulling it out & showing me how to do it, if it happens again. She got a lollypop & we took her out to Dairy queen. She did really good at the doc office. We have to keep an eye on it & make sure we don't start seeing a rash & if we see a bullseye looking thing, then it could be Lyme disease. She had a wood tick, not a deer tick in her. In the pic below, that big bump is the ticks body. We thought it was her skin swelled up.

Well, the good thing is that you caught it! I see lots of kids running around these days that look like they never have their hair combed so it would be easy to miss something like that on them.
Ewww! Ticks are gross. I pulled on off my girl...a year ago maybe. It wasn't that big yet though. They are supposed to be really bad, in lots and lots of them, this year. Good catch!
