Santa already?
We were @ the mall today with some friends & Santa is already there. I know it is November now, but it seems too early to me. It will go really fast I'm sure. We'll try to get a pic of T with Santa. She's still kind of afraid of him. There is a florist near us that does free Santa pics & has lots of goodies to eat & drink. So we'll go there instead of paying & getting a bad pic of her being miserable with Santa.

Oh, I'm SO not ready to see Santa! It was 80 degrees yesterday!
I haven't seen any Santa's yet this year (I haven't been to the mall in awhile either though!) but there's a local motel just down the street from me that has their Christmas lights up already. Too freakin' early!!!
Have you ever seen the movie "Miracle on 34th Street?" We're missing the safety and magic of a Santa that is really special and I'm not surprised that your daughter is frightened of him. Especially as malls can be overwhelming. It sounds like you're doing a wonderful job by not forcing her to go sit on his lap when she doesn't want to.
