Hockey girl

I was in TJ Maxx last week & saw a cute Strawberry shortcake hockey stick & puck. I had to get it for T. She likes to play hockey in the kitchen with her bowls. My Dad played hockey for years (he was a referee), so I thought it was cute for her to have her own stick.

Depression

Someone who I care about a lot is having depression problems. She is (hopefully) getting the help that she needs. If you have depression problems please get help. Don't be afraid to talk to someone about it & get the help you need. Tons of people are on meds for depression & anxiety. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Are you heat miser or snow miser?

I know that's probably a strange question to be asking now, but we watched 2 of the specials at Christmastime & I'm still singing the songs. I was just watching the videos of them on you tube. So are you Heat Miser or Snow Miser? I'm heat miser, but I think Snow miser is funnier. I love warm weather & never want to see a day below 75 degrees.

Unlucky?

Most of you know that I love to enter giveaways. I've only won 2 contests this year & I've entered a bunch. I'm wondering if my luck has run out. It can become very addicting when you enter contests & win. I consider it work. I'm a sahm, so it's my job to save our family $ & find coupons & win clothes for our daughter, food, toys, pressies for b-days & X-mas. I have a lot of fun doing it (when I have free time).

54 days till Spring

I've had the Winter blues lately. I already posted a blog about it recently. 1 of my friends suggested taking more vitamin D. I asked about it at the pharmacy today, but they said that I shouldn't take it along with a multivitamin. That just the mv should be enough. I just have no energy at all. I've been napping almost everyday or going to bed early. I'm sending some sunshine to you all. We're getting the heavy rain today that Cali had recently.

Tara is only 2 & 1/2, but she has quite the social schedule. She had 2 b-day parties today. The 1st 1 was at a gym. Her friend Carly turned 3.

chocolate scented candles & free hand cream

Got these 2 chocolate scented candles @ Christmas tree shop for 89 cents each.

I went & got my free gift from Aerie today. This month it's an In Love hand cream. It smells yummy. A mix of Dewy peach, vanilla blossom & caramel musk.

Bye bye car

Well last night Anthony went out to snowblow the driveway. I stayed inside with Tara. He was outside for like 2 hrs & came in & said he had some bad news. He moved my car over on the hill & it slid down on some ice into the woods. He should of ran inside & got the camera (knowing that his blogging wife would just love to blog about this), but he didn't. He told me after the fact. Anyway, the car is okay, but it does have some scratches on it. He said there was a dent, but I didn't see that. I looked @ it today when I went out.

Antioxident drink

My hubs friend's wife made this drink the last time we went over there. She wasn't sure of the exact measurements, but the recipe is below. I'll be making this for my next Girl's night.

Blackberry vodka, chambord, aloe vera juice and Bosso Nova Acai juice. Instead of ice, I just pour it over frozen berries and then use a fresh squeeze of lemon.

I thought I would do a post on my adorable JoJo. I adopted her in 2000 from the animal rescue league. I always had cats growing up & went a year in my apt without 1. I had a horrible landlord, he had said they didn't allow cats anymore, but would let me get have a cat if I gave a pet deposit. When I was ready to adopt a cat he denied that he had said that I could have a cat. Anyway, I ended up getting him to let me have 1, but it had to be declawed. The 1st place I went to didn't have any declawed cats. The 2nd place only had Jo. So she became my baby. She was already 3 years old when I adopted her. When I moved out of the apt he wouldn't give me my deposit back, but I went above him & they gave me my $ back. She has been with me through a lot. A break up with my ex-fiance, moving back with my parents for a while, moving in with Anthony, getting married, having a sister named Tara & finally moving to NH. She will be 13 in June. According to the papers, her birthday is the day before mine. She's the sweetest cat. She's really mellow, is a lap cat & loves people. Her nicknames are Josephine Marie, Josie, Josephina. Her middle name is Marie. I think all pets should have middle names. All of mine always did.

Lemon poppy seed muffins

I made some muffins today. They were really good, from Betty Crocker. I put our initials on them. M for Mama, D for Dadda, G from Grampy & N for Nana. My Dad was coming today, so I was rushing to get the initials on them & the icing was not hardened yet. So they started dripping. They were really good. I'll be making them again. I love to bake muffins or breads on Fridays.

Beauty finds

I saw an ad for this Clinique gloss in a magazine. It has vitamin c & antioxidents in it. They come in different flavors & colors & cute names. Absolute acai, mango-thon, rhubarbie, pink me up, fig-a-licious, raisin the bars, nude-tricious.
I was in CVS the other day & tried on Pamela Anderson's new perfume. There are 2. I'm not even sure which 1 I tried on, but it smelled really good. There is Malibu Day / Malibu Pink is a fruity floral with notes of wild berries, mandarin, honeysuckle, white florals, ambered sandalwood, caramel, vanilla and praline. Malibu Night/Malibu blue is an oriental with pomegranate, chocolate persimmon, greens, black orchid, lotus, champaca, vanilla violet, mahogany wood, patchouli & Amber.

Hot Vanilla

I had never heard of this before, but I sounds really yummy. I got it on the Family fun website. I'll be making it soon.

Hot vanilla

Turn the classic hot-chocolate treat on its head by serving up steaming mugs of this vanilla-flavored tummy warmer -- topped with dollops of chocolaty cream.
Ingredients
1/2 cup of whipping cream
1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup
Dash of cinnamon
1 cup of milk (per hot vanilla)
2 teaspoons of sugar (per hot vanilla)
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (per hot vanilla)

Instructions
Start with the topping. In a medium bowl, whip 1/2 cup of whipping cream until it's frothy. Add 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup and a dash of cinnamon, then continue to whip the mixture until everything is well blended and peaks form. Makes enough to top about 6 drinks.
For each hot vanilla, microwave 1 cup of milk and 2 teaspoons of sugar in a mug for 90 seconds. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Top with a dollop of chocolate cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, and a dash of cinnamon.

My new accessory

Ugly isn't it? My hand has been bothering me for a while. Way back in the early 90's I worked at an assembly place (for 12 years). We built connectors & had to put caps on them. Some didn't fit on the connectors right & you really had to push & squeeze them. It got better after I stopped working there. Then when I was preg it bothered me again. I could hardly turn a doorknob. Then it was better. Now just the past 3 months or so my right hand has really been bothering me. I think it's because we have those squeezy child proof doorknob covers on some of our doors. So I finally went to the doctor today & she said I have carpal tunnel & my right hand is weaker than the left. I'm losing muscle tone. So she gave this yucky thing to wear. I asked if it came in pink or purple & she said no. I'm thinking I'm going to get some cute girlie material & try to make it look nice. I have no idea how I'm going to do it. It hurts to do some of my fave things, writing, scrapbooking & typing. Hopefully it will help & my hand will feel better soon.

Get to Target now

Last night we went to Target. I had a $30 gift card. They have tons of cute Valentine scrapping items in the dollar section. I could have spent the whole $30 just on that stuff. But I got a new scarf, mascara, nailpolish etc.. too.

Who Inpires you?

I have so many people who inspire me. Other Mommy friends, people who juggle all the things in life & some how keep it all under control, positive people (I'm working on that), certain bloggers, creative people etc... It's a great feeling when someone can inspire you to be all that you can be.

Does anyone know where I can have a cheap blog button made? I think I posted about this before, but haven't gotten 1 yet. I'd love to get a blog makeover, but they are so expensive & I like to change things up, so often that it wouldn't be worth it. But I would love a blog button.

Winter blues

I'm going through the Winter blues lately. Anyone that knows me knows how much I loathe Winter, cold & snow. I've been trying to keep Positive & busy. I even painted my nails a hot pink (Jamaica me Crazy by Pure ice) last night.

Even that didn't help. I don't even feel like shopping or going out. Hoping to get out of this funk soon.
