Drive-in movie

Tonight our mall had an event for families. They had bouncy houses, face painting, goodie bags, coupons, frisbies etc... Then they had Shrek on the big screen. I don't think I've ever been to a drive-in movie, at least I don't remember it. The only bad part is the movie started late, so we didn't get home till around 10:30. I think we'll go next week, but skip the movie. Next week it's Ice age.

Last swim lesson @ the beach

Today was T's last swim lesson @ the beach. She did real good in her last 2 classes & even got a report card today. We were @ the beach for 3 hrs yesterday. Ugh. I'm not a beach person & ended up cranky & sunburned. She had to make up a class that was canceled because the levels were high for ecoli. I was talking to 1 of our neighbors yesterday & she said both of her kids were sick & she's convinced that it was from being in the water @ the beach. I think we might go there 1 more time next week.

She has 2 more lessons @ her friend's pool left.

CSN stores review & Giveaway (closed)

I found CSN stores a few months ago & had a lot of fun doing my last giveaway for them. I've recently become a CSN stores preferred blogger. That means I am doing another giveaway. This time we reviewed a Kitchen Faucet.

This is our old kitchen faucet. I think it's about 30 years old. It's the same 1 that was put in when the house was first built. It was rusty & just old looking.

This is the shiny new one. I love the way it looks. Even just this little update can make the house look refreshed & new.

I have to get use to having seperate hot & cold handles. I'm use to having them both in one handle. It was very easy to install. My husband had more trouble getting the old one out. It took a total of 2 hrs to do. I also love the new side sprayer. It looks much nicer than the old fashioned black ones.

What I'm reading

I'm reading this book that I got from the library.

I can relate to a lot of the things that she says in the book. I'm a huge fan of hers. I know some people don't like her, but since I started watching her & Dean's show, I really became a fan of hers. I want to get her new book soon. It's probably going to take me another month to finish this book.

Busy lately

We've been so busy lately. Tara is signed up for swim lessons @ her friend's pool. She's had 4 classes so far & 2 more to go. She's also taking lessons at the beach. She started on Tuesday, but I had a doc appointment that day, so my Dad came up & took her. I guess things didn't go so well. The next day we went for the lesson, but the ecoli was high, so there was no lesson on Wed or Thursday. I'm hoping the classes at the beach will happen this week & she can make up what she missed. Anthony has a virus. He's had it since Wednesday. Sore throat, headache fevers, chills, body aches. He called in sick yesterday & went to the doc. He got some rest today & we're hoping that we all don't get it. T & I went to a 1 year old's b-day party today. They live right on the lake & it was a beautiful day. Then tonight we went & had T's 3 year photos done. This is 1 of our faves below.

Hawk go away

We have some hawks living in our trees in our yard. There's at least 2 of them. I've been hearing them for a few months, but we finally saw 1 the other day. Yesterday morning 1 landed in our birdbath. It's hard to see, I took the pic through the window, but it didn't come out good because of the flash. I didn't want to open the front door, because I figured he would fly away. I'm from the Boston burbs, so I'm not use to seeing things like this. I thought I had a rare bird in my yard, but my Mom said she has seen them in my hometown. Anyway, when we 1st saw the hawk the other day it swooped down & caught a mouse. Then flew up into the tree. It was kind of disturbing for me since I love animals. But I was thinking about it yesterday & we had a family of chipmunks living in our yard for the past year & I realized that I haven't seen any of them for a while. I'm hoping the hawks didn't get them. They're so cute. It would make me really sad. Tara even named 1 Muck. My hubby said that he thinks that they only eat dead animals, but I'm not sure about that.

My 1st time in Ulta

I saw these eyeliners on Vampy Varnish's blog. I love the colors & they sound great. So I traveled all the way to Ulta in the Boston area (My 1st time ever in an Ulta store) to find it. 1st we went to my parent's house & A helped my Dad with his computer & his vcr. So he finally finished & we headed there. Of course there was tons of traffic. So I ended up getting there 10 minutes before it closed. That was so hard for me to be kicked out. I wanted to spend at least an hr or 3 looking around at everything. So they ended up being sold out of them. I bought 3 nailpolishes & a buttercream shower gel. So I ordered the eyeliners online & they ended up being on back-order. So they finally came 2 days ago. I really do love the colors, but they are a bit much for food shopping & playgroups. They stay on great. I went to the beach yesterday for T's swimming lessons & I had the dark purple 1 on. I felt a bit weird, so I just kept my sunglasses on. So I'm not sure how much I'll wear them.

Spiked Lemonade

Stir up this easy lemonade: a big-batch, big-fun summer cocktail with enough for a thirsty crowd.

Ingredients:
1 bottle (750 ml) vodka or gin
5 cups lemonade
2 cups cranberry juice
3 cups ginger ale

Directions:
Just stir and serve!
