Hard times

So my brother Tommy is very ill. He is in the hospital his kidneys aren't working & his liver is in bad shape. He's hooked up to tubes & is highly medicated. So we're not sure what is going to happen. But it's all so sad & scary. We've already been through this with my other brother Skip. He had a stroke & can't talk or use his right arm. It's kind of like deja vu. Skipper made it through. It's been 2 years. I feel for my Dad having to go through this again. It's hard on him. So if you could send some positive vibes our way that would be great.

This polish is from Five Below, Funky Fingers~Mellow Mood. I think it's a really pretty color. It's suppose to change colors from cold to hot. I didn't really notice that.

Getting behind

I think that happens every Summer you get behind in things. I am getting caught up in letters finally since mail has been slowish. Going through some recipes (like 400 of them). I've been doing a bunch at a time. I really want to simplify. I can't wait for Tara to go back to school, so I can really have time to get organized. I'm also going to have my friend come again to help me organize my office/craft room. So behind right now, but hope to get back to life & get caught up in September. August is going to be a crazy/busy month & I'm sure it's going to fly by. So September will be healthy eating, yoga & getting organized.

Mommy & Me Monday

1st I want to say I didn't get to post on Saturday because we had a wind/thunderstorm & lost power. It was back when we woke up on Sunday morning. I really should post ahead of time, but Summer gets so busy. Then for some reason I never got around to blogging on Sunday. I guess I kind of forgot. So I kind of took the weekend off without meaning to.

This pic is from Tara's birthday. We never got 1 at Friendlys at dinner. So we took 1 right before bed.

This polish is 1 of my fave royal blues & I don't think they have it anymore. I haven't seen it anywhere. It's Wet n' Wild Megalast~Coast to Coast. Luckily it hasn't dried up or anything. I've had it for a few years.

She's 9 years old

I can't believe it, Tara is 9 years old. She'll be double digits next year. Time really does go fast. I know parents always say that, but it really is true. Growing so fast & such a sassy girl. Now a tween.

9th Birthday Party

We had T's birthday party early (it's really the 21st). She had a lot of fun. About 11 girls came. We had a water slide, water balloons & a make your own sundae bar. It was an ice cream theme. The weather stayed nice. It said chance of rain & thunder. We had some sun, some clouds, but no rain.

10 Things Making Me Happy This Week

1. Watermelon sherbert.
2. Finding birthday presents for people.
3. Happy Mail.
4. New Skechers sandals.
5. Planning the Drama Queens birthday party.
6. Organizing & throwing away stuff. I got rid of 2 trash bags of magazines & threw out 7 nail polishes so far.
7. Birds in our birdbath. We are in the middle of a drought. So it's nice to see them happy.
8. Meeting new people through friends.
9. My New Black Cherry Merlot candle from Bath & Body works. It smells so good.

10. Getting a $35 Estee Lauder kit for $18 with my friends discount. The only bad thing is I have to wait for it to be delivered.

My friend gave me a canvas tote filled with nail polish. This is 1 from the bunch. It looks handmade, so I'm not sure where it is from. But the shade is Miami Beet. It's a pretty plumish color. I'm getting ready to take it off tomorrow & start with something new.

*A few things right away, my cat. She's very sweet & always in a good mood. I wouldn't mind switching with her for a day. A cat's life, must be nice.

Do you read in bed?

I read in bed every night. I'm heading in there in a few minutes. What books are you all reading? I'm finishing up my book tonight & hoping to start another 1 tomorrow night. I've been reading the same book since March.

What is your fave accessory right now?

I like my silver Alex & Ani bracelet & some other bead/stone bracelets that I have, I have a new headband that I got from hippy Runner that is really cute.I love headbands & scarves too.  I would love to make my own jewelry. Something different & unique. Crystals & stones. What is your fave accessory?

This week I had on this pretty dark red. It's an OPI mini, so no name. I wish they would put names on  the minis.

Fibro update

So things have been so/so. School vacation & kids being home bothering Moms with fibro, who only want to rest or get done the things on their to-do list, but they never all seem to get done. My feet hurt so bad. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to stand, walk & drive. I am going to my physical therapist next Friday. Hopefully she can do something that will help my ankles or show me something to do to make it better.I do yoga stretches throughout the day. I do circles with my ankles & use a tennis ball for the planter fasciitis. I got a new tumeric cream from a girl I know. It seems okay. Lots going on getting ready for Tara's birthday party, she has 2 parties coming up, some Summer camps & dance camp. Keeping us busy. Just need to fit some rest & naps in.

Waiting for the fireworks. These were the 2nd fireworks that we saw. Our town fireworks were last Thursday. Way early.

New England Minute~Hampton Beach

They had sand sculptures. They were set up in June & still looking pretty good. But vandals destroyed about 3 or 4 of them. That's so sad. The people put so much work into it.

She did a bungee thing. She looked so happy. I'm proud of her when she does stuff like this. She's done so many things that I would never do as a kid.

We ate lunch outside.I had an awesome haddock sandwich & a yummy sangria.

How do you stay in touch with long distance friends & family?

*I keep in touch with friends & family that don't live nearby through e mail.
*I text a few of them, but I have an old fashioned flip phone, so I don't use that, I can text from my  ipod touch if I'm near wi-fi & they have an iphone.
*Letters & note cards. I love to write & get Happy mail.
*Definitely not by phone. haha. I haven't been a phone person since I was like 15. I cringe when the phone rings.
*Facetime too. It was nice when Anthony was away to be able to see him, all the way in Malaysia. I hate being on video, so I'm trying to get use to being on video. I've been trying to do little videos on Snapchat.

This week I wanted something bright on my nails. I wore Salon Perfect ~Tropicool Punch & OPI~Show us Your Tips. Both are very pretty. This is my other hand, haha. I do have a right hand. I usually post pics of my left hand.
