Nail Files. Week #316

This is a brand new polish that I got today. It's OPI~ Taupe-less Beach. This isn't the usual type of color that I wear. Usually I wear brighter colors like purple & pink. I like it a lot though.

House Guest

 We have my Mom's cousin's bird staying with us until Tuesday. She is going into a home tomorrow & she couldn't bring her bird Pumpkyn with her. My Dad brought her to the mspca today, but they don't take surrenders on Sundays. So he has to wait until Tuesday. So she is here for now. She's in my office. Her cage is on the bed & we have the door shut, so my cats don't get to her. She's really cute. She doesn't talk. We were thinking of keeping her, but my friend was telling me that you can't use teflon pans or light candles. I'm really into stinky/smelly things. lol. Essential oil diffusers, Wallflowers from BBW, candles, body sprays, lotions. So it wouldn't be good for her. I feel really bad & would love to keep her. Tara has been in tears because she wants us to keep her. I told her that she has to just enjoy having her as a guest for a few days.

Essential Oils

I've been into essential oils for a few years now. I went to have my nails done yesterday & the lady also sells essential oils. They are so expensive though. I don't I will ever spend that kind of $ on a kit. I just think it's a little crazy. Some of my fave essential oils are peppermint, lavender, sweet orange, lemon & grapefruit. I really need to get a 2nd diffuser for the kitchen. The oil that I use in my office makes me so happy. I really need to use the diffuser now because I hate Fall & Winter & get really depressed, so this lifts my mood a little bit. I am hoping to learn more info about essential oils & do more posts on here. Maybe post some recipes for different things.

Our 2 new pets

We got 2 hermit crabs today. Tara's friend got 2 & T has been obsessed. It's taken her a long time to get them because she had to brush her hair & teeth every morning. She missed some days & got a few days added, but finally she got them tonight. 2 of her friends came with us. 1 got 2 crabs too (she had 2 & 1 died, so she got 2 more).

 Below you can see both crabs. 1 way to the right & the other 1 has the stripes or circles on his shell. The others are extra empty shells.

Stuff & Things

This week has been weird.

*We've been seeing a lot of frogs in the yard. A really big 1 (we usually have small 1s in our yard). He was near our garage door wanting in. Then the next morning. Anthony tells us that Kiz was playing with a frog in the house. Not sure how it got in. It wasn't the big 1. Kiz loves to play with mice & other small animals, so she was probably playing with it all night. It was in bad shape. Anthony put it out in the front bushes. We had a snake in the yard the other day. I got a few pics. I think they are interesting. Then yesterday Tara was feeding a chipmunk. She kept putting bird seed out & the chipmunk would come eat it. She put it in a plastic Easter egg & put it under the wood pile that the chipmunk lives in. He ate all of it. So we might put more seed out on our driveway for him.

*I'm having a manicure & pedicure tomorrow. I'm excited & nervous. It's only the 3rd time I've had my nails done. I hope they come out nice. I'll post pics. I'm hoping that she can do a cute design on it.

*Mail has been pretty good this week. I'm still waiting for a swap that I was suppose to get. It was due Sept 4th. I'll give it a few days & then mention something on the fb group.

Wordless Wednesday~Sunflowers

New England Minute~Old Orchard Beach, Maine

This is our Labor day weekend tradition. We go to OOB. We meet up with friends that camp there & my friend that lives in Maine meets us there too.

 Tara has been getting a cold & wasn't feeling too great yesterday (She ended up staying home from school today & I brought her to the doctor. She has a virus, no fever & it doesn't look like strep throat. I will be drinking emergen-c tomorrow & might get some vitamin c to take too. I don't want to be sick). We left the beach at 8:00 & got home at 9:30. So pretty late for a school night.

We always go to a bar on the end of the pier, but it's always so windy (even inside). I wore layers this year. In this pic below I have 4 layers on. A tank top, t-shirt, plaid shirt & a jacket. It's cooler on the water. We always get frozen mudslides.

We haven't gotten too many pics together lately, so we took this 1 in Maine the other day. We need to start taking more pics again.

September Monthly Goals

 So if you know me & have been following my blog for a while, you know that I am not a fan of Fall. It's the end of Summer & the beginning of cooler weather that makes me get sore throats & more aches & pains from fibro & cramping hands from carpal tunnel. Tough times for me. But anyway, I am happy about having more time to get stuff done around the house. So here is my list for this month.

1. Continue to clean, organize & destash stuff. This is my office below. As you can see I am way behind in going through my magazines. I bought that new box with eyelashes on it to help organize my desk & get certain papers in there instead of loose & in sight.

2. Try to sell some stuff on facebook's local yard sale page & in the marketplace.

3. Get on a weekly cleaning schedule.

4. Work on a bullet joural.

5. Get crafty.

6. Make new recipes from Pinterest.

7. Get on a regular exercise plan. Walking, pilates, yoga or eliptical.

8. Get back into my meal plans.

That seems like a lot for this month, so I will end there.
