Rail Trail

Today we went bike riding on a local Rail Trail. It was kind of cool out, in the 50's. The sun kept going behind the clouds & we kept thinking that it was going to rain. Luckily it didn't. I did about 5 miles on the bike. Tara kept slowing down & stopping, but my neighbor & I went further. I'm hoping we can go here a bunch more times before Summer is over.

I noticed last night on the mspca website that there were 2 siamese cats up for adoption at the shelter. So I made sure that I got some photos. They had to be adopted together. 1 is a seal point siamese & the other is a blue point. Tonight I saw on the website that they were adopted. I would love to have cats like these someday. 1 of my cats, Brittany Mia was part siamese. They can get really loud.

Just another day at the office. haha. This week is school vacation week, so Tara came to the animal shelter after my shift today. We walked around & saw the outside animals & then went inside to see the other animals.

Mini Smashbook pages

I worked on a few Smashbook pages in my mini book tonight. It's my happy book with Happy Quotes & things that make me happy. Right now I am doing this post from bed with Hubby snoring next to me & my cat on my lap. Ah, the Good life. Happy thoughts & Happy Dreams everyone.

The Cleanse. I'm so over you.

Well today is my last day of my 21 day cleanse. I've been trying to be gluten-free (it doesn't have to be 100% on this diet), no dairy & nothing spicy (no onions or garlic. I used garlic powder). I tried to do a low fod-map diet. I met with my nutritionist & made up a menu plan. I did this on my own, so I'm not sure how I really did. I don't feel any better. My acid reflux is still really bad. I still have my pains in my lower back, pains in my stomach & muscle spasms in my stomach. So I'm not sure if it's just that I ate something that I shouldn't have (I didn't read every ingredient in everything I ate) or it just isn't the right diet for me. I did this because of my IBS & stomach issues. Starting tomorrow I am suppose to add something new back in. I think I am going to do apples tomorrow. The week after I can add in dairy & can have yogurt. I'm kind of annoyed about it all though. I'm going away to Vermont next Friday & it's going to be hard to only eat certain things. We usually go out to eat & I like to get a drink. I feel like 3 weeks is enough, but if you add things in slowly, you can tell if they bother you more. Not that what I'm eating now isn't bothering me. This is my 4th or 5th cleanse, but this is the longest I've done 1. I think this will be my last 1. I might just cut out 1 thing at a time & then add it back in, but everything at once is hard.

I have on China Glaze-Dashboard Dreamer & Finger Paints-Daubigny's Garden over 2 of my nails. Yes, there's some chipping on my CG nails. I went over them with more polish.

It was a nice day yesterday. We did some yard work. I brought JoJo out on the front steps to take a few pics with her. She is an indoor cat, she only comes out if we are holding her. She gets scared too. From all the noises outside.

Turning 45 Soon

In a few months I'll be turning 45. It seems so weird to say. Not sure how I can be turning 45. I'm not thrilled about it. For the 1st time, since I turned 30 I'm really not looking forward to my birthday. Mentally I feel 25, but physically I feel 70. I went outside today to help hubs pick up branches that fell down over the Winter. I laid down on the front porch (That's when I took this pic) before I even started helping. After I felt totally exhausted. I am in the middle of doing a 21 day cleanse, so that might have a little to do with it. Which birthdays have been hard for you? I think 45 is definitely harder than 30 & 40.

So I finally started in the cat room today. I watched someone clean out 1 of the cages & he showed me some other stuff. I had orientation on Sunday, but they didn't show us step by step what to do. They had 3 kittens there today. They were so adorable & I got to hold 1.

This is Zelda below. She is 9 years old & was so friendly & loveable. I would love to take her home. I read that she likes to give kisses too.

This week I have on NYC-Empire State Blue. I haven't bought a NYC polish in a long time. This is really pretty color. I seem to be losing my nails all of a sudden. So sad. My thumb nail is really short & my pinky. My other hand is all short.

Kiko is a male Cocker spaniel, he is 10 years old. I walked him twice. He loves toys. He plays with toy balls a lot.

I got these 2 books at a library book sale. I read "Books Can Be Deceiving" 1st, I'm now on "Book Line & Sinker". The 1st book was okay. I like the 1 that I am reading now better. The main character works in a library, which I think is cool because I want to work at a library. These are my fave type of books, Cozy Mysteries.
