Volunteering
It was really cold walking dogs today. I was happy to see that 3 or 4 dogs had "I've been adopted' signs on their cages & 1 pending, Leiany. Mona, a sweet pitbull, that I have walked quite a bit wasn't there & I found out that she was adopted. This girl below was adopted last Summer & now she is back to the animal shelter & is chubby. She has 2 different color eyes. I think her name was Lolo. For some reason I am having trouble remembering who I walked & saw. I guess walking through I saw 50 different cats & dogs.
I went to see the cats today. This cat was so adorable. She is 13. She was laying on her mouse. She was very friendly.
So we only had snow once, the day before Thanksgiving. Some flurries, but nothing that stuck to the ground. We've been lucky & have had lots of days around 50 degrees. Today was like 23 out. I saw this frozen dandelion. Thought that was kind of cool to see in December. I saw 2 more together. Tara said that I should have picked them, but then they wouldn't be there.

Pretty quilt
Anthony's friend Bill's Mom made us a quilt for Christmas. I like the cardinal side a lot. She didn't quite finish it, she has to tie all the strings, so she took it back home & we don't have it yet. Not sure when we'll get it.

shopaholic
I feel like I've been spending way too much $ lately & really need to try to cut down & save $, but I've also been getting some good deals & discounts.
I got these ornaments tonight at Target, 1/2 off. I love them all.
I got this stuff last night at Bath & body works. I've never heard of this soap, Cozy vanilla cream & could only find 1. It smells so awesome, just like buttercream. I couldn't find it on the website either.

Christmas photos
I'm really behind with doing posts. Here are some recent photos. My computer has been acting weird the past few days again.
Christmas eve.
Anthony gave us sort of matching pjs. My 1st one piece. I had a hard time figuring out how to get it on & then I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom & my hood dipped in the toilet, so I had to change out of it.
Not sure what happened with this pic. It just came out hazy like this.
Christmas day. We tried to do some group photos, but my parents & Anthony's parents don't know how to take photos on an Ipod touch. So I had to delete most of them.

Nail Files. Week # 185
I kept it simple for Christmas. We had so much going on that I only had 1 hand done when we went to our friend's house, X-mas eve. How horrible is that? Anyway, the red is Pure Ice~Hit the Floor & the green is Wikid Nails, it's a mini, so I'm not sure what the name is.

Christmas Eve eve
Can you believe it? We made it. It's almost over. Hip hip horray. Yeah, I'm a little excited. We have some last minute errands to do tomorrow. I still have a few presents to buy. We're going to our friend's house tomorrow night. Tara is on vacation until January 5th.

Mommy & Me Monday
We took these pics last week outside next to our Christmas display. Can't believe that Christmas is this week. I'll kind of be glad when it's all over.

Stormy Midnight RIP
Our fish Stormy Midnight died a few days ago. He hadn't eaten in 5 or 6 weeks, so I wasn't surprised. We got him on Freecycle last December, so I'm not sure how old he was. He is our 3rd beta fish. We still have Cooper. We've had him almost 3 years in April.

Volunteering
This picture is kind of hard to see, but it is all the cute dogs up for adoption at the MSPCA in Methuen, MA. I've walked a bunch of them & they are great dogs. Some of my faves are Mona & Kobi & Bella. I would love to find them homes for the holidays. I know, not much time left now. 1 of our friends is going tomorrow to look at 1 of the dogs, but he is 9 years old. I will be switching to the cat room probably in January. I'm so excited about that.

Tuscan Chicken and Beans recipe
Tuscan Chicken & Beans
I found this recipe on Taste of Home. I made it for dinner last night. It has such a great taste. We don't have rosemary, so I substituted oregano & basil.
YIELD:
4 servings
Ingredients:
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
1 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
2 tablespoons sun-dried tomatoes (not packed in oil), chopped
1 can (15-1/2 ounces) white kidney or cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, combine the chicken, rosemary, salt and pepper. In a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, cook chicken over medium heat until browned.
2. Stir in broth and tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 3-5 minutes or until chicken juices run clear. Add beans; heat through.
Yield: 4 servings.
Nutritional Facts: 1 cup equals 216 calories, 3 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 63 mg cholesterol, 517 mg sodium, 17 g carbohydrate, 4 g fiber, 28 g protein. Diabetic Exchanges: 3 lean meat, 1 starch.

Things I'm Loving Lately (Warm & Cozy)
Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate cold weather & I am always cold. So I'm all about warm & cozy. I've been buying more scarves & gloves. I got 2 new pairs of fingerless gloves & a regular pair of gloves. They are so cute. I decided to get rid of a few pairs that I had that were old & worn out.
I also really love eternity scarves. I never really got how to wear a regular scarf & they just end up annoying me. I think they look cool on other people. I might somehow pin all my regular scarves to make them look like eternity scarves & not hang. These are my 2 new scarves. I got the 1 on the left at American Eagle & the 1 on the right at Walmart. I wear them all day & even around the house. I wear the fingerless gloves around the house too.
I also love having candles lit once it starts getting darker earlier. I got this on Friday with a coupon. Bath & Body works was selling them for $8 & I had a coupon. I love the new jars with the cute pictures on them. I'm hoping to go back & get a few more candles before the season is over.
