Accents
I don't know if I ever mentioned that I have an extremely strong Boston accent (with a faint Southern accent in there somewhere). Even when I try to talk without the Boston accent, people still think I have one. I now live in NH & I fit in here (most people that live here are from MA), but when I go away people notice it & sometimes can't understand me. I was watching the news today (a Boston channel) & I was laughing at 1 of the guys that was on there talking. I can notice it, but a lot of people who live here really don't. I'm already trying to teach my daughter to say "wicked". I want to pass the tradition of that word on. I'm just curious, what accents do you all have? Can you notice your accent & do you like it? What are your favorite accents? I love Southern accents (some of my best friends have Southern accents), Brittish, Scottish/Irish & Australian.

More pics from our vacation (pic heavy)
The woman that owned the b&b, that we stayed at, told us about a nearby hotel that had a country club with a great mountain view & a restaurant with a deck. So this a pic from the deck.
The 2nd day it was cool & it rained heavy all day. We went to eat a few times & went to an outlet mall. We stopped by a waterfall that we drove by & got a few pics.

Not liking the new deck color
Hubby power washed our deck yesterday & him & my Dad painted it today. We went to Home depot this morning for me to look at the wood samples. We both liked different colors. I liked the more brown color & hubs liked this 1, the redwood. The 1st thing I said when he asked me what color I wanted was "As long as it's not orange". So we flipped a coin & he won. So we now have an pumpkin orange deck & I'm hating it. Let me know what you all think. He said redwood is the most popular color. He loves it, but he is also color blind. We have a light blue house.

Storyland here we come
We leave tomorrow for our vacation. I'm looking forward to getting away. This is a pic of my cousin Donna & I at Storyland. I think I was around 6 years old here (I'm the 1 in the yellow).
So we'll be home on Thursday. I'm hoping the weather is okay. It's been raining for the past few days (after 2 months of hardly no rain) & might rain the next few days. We are hitting the outlet mall , so we'll do that whatever day rains.

Remember this?
Did anyone have this Barbie vette? I think I got it around 1978. I saw it in my parent's basement about 6 months or so ago. The other day they were showing a new Barbie car & Tara wanted it. I told her that I had 1 & would have my Dad bring it the next time he visited. Anthony tested the remote to see if it worked. It didn't have enough power to make the car move, so I think we'll be cutting that off. She can still use it with her Barbies. I thought of looking up the new version of the Vette. It probably has a gps in it & On Star or other new fangled things. I also had the Barbie town house. I didn't keep that. But the new one has a hot tub & other exciting things. I'm not sure why I kept a lot of my things since I was never planning to have kids (I'll write a post on that someday), but I'm glad I did.

Pink is my favorite color
I bought this new body spray in Vic Secret last week. It's called Sunny & Happy & the scent is just that. I love the smell. It reminds me of berries. They have around 6 different scents, but this is my fave. The only thing I've noticed about body sprays is that the scent doesn't stay for long (most of the ones that I have. different brands). I always have to spray myself again as the day goes on.

Tasty Tuesday
Just a quick 1 today. I have a bit of a headache.
French toast grilled cheese
ingredients:
bread
cheese slices
egg (s)
butter or cooking spray
Just put together the sandwich like you usually do, 2 pieces of bread with cheese in the middle. Dip in egg & then add to the pan (add butter or cooking spray, to the pan). Just make it like French toast. When I 1st told my hubby about it, he thought it sounded horrible. But I made it for him & now he makes it too.

I love freebies
We spent the day in Hampton beach today. It was a bit chilly there, but we had lots of fun. We made sure that we were back in our area for the mall event. We skipped the movie tonight, but we got some freebies/coupons & I ran in the mall & got a Bare escentuals sample.
Before I went in the mall I had 1 of the make-up girls do my make up (just the powder over my face, she did around 3 or 4 layers of stuff). My face felt strange. She said it might feel tingley. I'm going to try out the sample & see how it feels. I also thought it looked a bit cakey.

This happened to me yesterday
I was @ the park with my daughter yesterday & a few Moms & kids from our playgroup. Tara made her way over to the swings, so I was pushing her. There was a teenage girl on my left swinging & a teenage girl on my right pushing a toddler on a swing. Tara was on the middle swing. This woman/girl looked @ me & asked "Are you 1 of the babysitters"? I didn't really get what she was saying at 1st, so I said "What"? Then I realized that the teenage girls were babysitting the kids that they were with. She repeated herself & I said "No, I'm just here with my daughter". She said "Oh, cause you look so young". I was caught off guard & didn't say anything else to her. I kind of wish I had told her I was 40. She was way younger than me & she shouldn't disrespect her elders like that. haha. Let me explain. I turned 40 in June. Ever since I turned 21 I've been cursed to look younger than I am. It's something that has always bothered me. I know it should be a complement, but I've always took it as an insult. For years I got carded. After a while it just gets to be a pain & I always got really embarassed. I don't get carded as much as I use to, but people still don't believe that I'm 40. I think I look at least 30, which is fine with me. I honestly don't think I look under 21. I have crows feet/lines around my eyes now. I was so excited when those lines appeared. I thought I would finally look somewhat older. Not so much. If I'm not smiling or squinting you can't see the lines, so what good are they. So now I'm using wrinkle cream to get rid of them. Even my hair needs to be dyed & the white hairs don't help me look at least 30. I've had white hairs since I was 21, but didn't start dying my hair till I was 30. Do any of you have this problem & do you get insulted or take it as a complement? I always thought someday I would like being told that I look younger. It hasn't happened yet.

That time of year already
Tomorrow my worst time of the year starts, football season. The Patriots play a game tomorrow night. That means we won't see Anthony till after the Superbowl, when the Patriots are playing. Even when they're not playing. For some reason when football is on he can't hear or think. Everyone knows I hate this time of year anyway. Fall, Halloween coming, Thanksgiving, Xmas. I just got the heeby geebies.
